It has been exciting English premier league Matchweek 1. Let’s look back to action packed first week.

Hull City 2-1 Leicester City

The champions were stunned by the newly promoted side, Hull City. Hull is now the first newly promoted team to win the opening encounter and that also against the champions.

The Welsh side provided a winning start to their 2016-17 campaign against the newly prompted side, Burnley. Swans are undefeated in their last 8 matches in the month of August.

West Bromwich Albion kept their one-goal margin victory saga alive and secured a composed win against a sturdy Crystal Palace. The eagles failed to convert.

The equalizer from Ross Barkley gave a clear-cut message to all the premier league clubs that winning at Merseyside won’t be a piece of cake.

It was Pep Guardiola’s first premier league outing and the citizens did not disappoint as they dominated most part of the game and secured a win, thanks to McNair late own goal.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic kept his tradition going by scoring on his debut helping his side sealed a comfortable win against the minnows AFC Bournemouth in Jose Mourinho's first game in charge of Manchester United.

Arsenal 3-4 Liverpool

The last game of the weekend was the most exciting as Liverpool ensured a successful trip to London defeating Arsenal in a 7 goal thriller at emirates. New signing, Sadio Mane was on the score-sheet and a win, lots of positive takeaways for Jurgen Klopp.

Chelsea 2-1 West Ham United

The West London derby on Monday evening gave Antonio Conte a winning start in English Premier League as his side overcame a hefty challenge from hammers.
