One Arsenal striker may quit this summer!

By  Football Pulp - 19 May 2017

Arsene Wenger is expected to undergo major revamp in his strike force this summer, and if this happens, Oliver Giroud is expected to leave Arsenal. The French striker played mostly as a back-up to Alexis Sanchez this season, starring in only 11 Premier League games. Sanchez has been phenomenal this season, but he has hinted to leave Arsenal this summer as well, with Bayern and Chelsea interested in signing the Chilean.

However, if this happens, Arsene Wenger will look for a replacement and Oliver Giroud, who joined Arsenal five years back will search for another option. He is seeking regular football to find a place in his country’s World Cup Squad next year. Advances from Marseille may tempt the striker as the Ligue 1 side is expected to flow money this summer.

Harry Kane leads the race for Golden Boot!

Harry Kane scored four as Tottenham demolished Leicester City 6-1 at the King Power Stadium. The striker got the scoreboard ticking for the Spurs and assisted one to put the visitors 2-0 up before the half-time. Leicester found the back of the net once to decrease the deficit, but Kane scored three goals in quick successions to give his side a thumping win over the defending champions.

The 23-year-old now leads the way in the Golden Boot race with 26 goals, two clear from Everton’s Romelu Lukaku. He also became the only fifth player in the history of the Premier League to score 25 or more goals in two successive seasons. Moreover, he is also the fifth player in the competition's history to score three or more hat-tricks in a single Premier League season.

Spurs will travel to KC Stadium to take on relegated Hull City.

Romero’s brilliance denies Saints!

Manchester United visited St Mary’s last night, and it was Sergio Romero who did a great job of frustrating the home side as Man Utd held Southampton for a goalless draw. The Argentinean goalkeeper saved Manolo Gabbiadini’s penalty to keep the visitors in the hunt. Moreover, Manchester United’s reserve goalkeeper took full advantage of the opportunity and denied attacks from the Saints on multiple occasions. Romero will be United’s leading man in the Europa League final against Ajax as well. The draw means Man Utd will finish the season at sixth.

Jose wants Man Utd’s last game to be moved!

Manchester United’s manager, Jose Mourinho has asked FA to move his side’s last league game against Crystal Palace. Manchester United will play Ajax in the Europa League Final on Wednesday. Keeping that in view, Jose has demanded a shift in the day for the Palace game as it is meaningless for both the sides. Also, Man Utd will get an extra day to prepare for the Europa League Final.

“I am here already seven years and I never saw any detail of trying to care about the English teams involved in European competitions. I never saw that with Chelsea, I never saw that with Manchester United, I never saw that with Manchester City last year. It’s just a lost battle.

It’s frustrating for me. I hope you don’t kill me when you see my team [against Palace]. I hope the fans at Old Trafford support the team, they forgive some naivety, they forgive some lack of confidence. And I hope that Big Sam [Allardyce] shows he’s a good friend and he goes slow. He tells to Zaha to go slow, he leaves Benteke at home. I hope he goes soft on us.”

Brace from Alexis Sanchez keeps Arsenal in hunt!

Arsenal hosted Sunderland last night in the Premier League to fight for glory. The Black Cats, who are already relegated from the league, showed high resistance but only until the 72nd minute. Arsenal’s most outstanding player this season, Alexis Sanchez, broke the deadlock in the 72nd minute to put the Gunners ahead. Nine minutes later, he scored the second goal to keep Arsenal’s Champions League hopes alive.

Arsenal are alive but only just as Manchester City also thumped West Brom at home to move to third place. Man City, Liverpool, and Arsenal are all fighting for a top-four finish, but Arsenal’s fate does not reside in their hands. However, this win for Arsenal means that the Champions League hopes are not over yet.

Pablo Zabaleta bids farewell to Etihad!

The Argentinean right-back, Pablo Zabaleta, received a stylish send-off as Manchester City cruised to a 3-1 win over West Brom. It was Zabaleta’s last home game for Man City, and his emphatic career at Etihad ended in style. The 32-year-old could not hold his tears after receiving such an emotional send-off. He finished the game with Captain’s armband and was also named man-of-the-match.

My future at Arsenal is not in doubt – Arsene Wenger

Arsene Wenger has reiterated that even though his side failed to qualify for the Champions League this season, it does not affect his future at Arsenal. Liverpool’s win over West Ham over the weekend means Arsenal going into the Final Week with their fate not in their hand.

"If we finish outside the top four, it will be down to one point, and one point will be hard to swallow.

"Our chance is just to win our games. We have 69 points, but our target is to get to 75.

"That would be four points more than last year. We have created the momentum again. Overall, the only chance we have to be in the top four is to win our games."

Harry Kane disappoints clubs chasing White Hart Lane stars!

Kane has warned the clubs chasing Spurs stars. The English striker recently gave an interview and said that the team is progressing under Pochettino.

“We’re a family on and off the pitch. We work so hard as a group and the staff, the manager… look, there’s not many better teams to be at around the world at the moment,” he said.

“Of course, there are going to be rumors over the summer, but I think I’d be very surprised if most of us aren’t still here next season.”
