Marcus Rashford joined the first team straight from the Academy last February, and scored nine goals in 22 appearances for Manchester United. Under Louis Van Gaal, the Englishman played a crucial role for the team that won the FA Cup last season. He signed a new contract in May, but after Mourinho’s arrival, the lad is a bit reluctant in his decisions. He has made only 31 appearances this season in all competitions, out which 17 were as a starter. With the lack of playing time under Mourinho, Rashford might be looking to sign a new contract extension.

According to sources, the 19-year-old was offered a new contract that will see his weekly wage increase to €50,000, but the striker is not ready to go ahead with it. Reportedly, he is thinking about new options. The player had a phenomenal start to his professional career but is said to be frustrated with the way Jose Mourinho is treating him. The former Chelsea and Real Madrid manager is more comfortable landing the Manchester United flop, Anthony Martial, and is keener on staring the Frenchman ahead of Rashford.

The player seems quite concerned about his role under Jose Mourinho and is undecided on whether he will be able to play regularly under the new manager. Also, a player of his caliber cannot be assigned to the benches, where his career will only go backwards. The lack of playing time is quite disappointing and he might be considering his options this summer.
The player has been exceptional for Red Devils and is regarded as one of the finest prospects in England. But not starting regularly will daunt his form and he hasn’t scored a Premier League goal since September – which makes him an unlikely choice for Gareth Southgate’s English squad.
So, the teenager’s priority, obviously, will be to star more games instead of signing new contract terms. Well, he is not a favorable choice for Jose Mourinho when you have Zlatan to lead the strike ranks. Even this season, the teenager played in a wider position because the Swedish is already entrusted as a central striker.
Marcus Rashford is an exceptional talent, and the player has given everything to prove his talent. However, Jose Mourinho is not quite impressed and has his reservations about the player. He wants to keep the striker in his squad. Also, Rashford is not planning to leave Manchester United, but with the situation not favoring him, he might find a new home for himself.
It is quite sad to see such a talent being wasted and Gareth Southgate would love to him in his squad but for that, he needs to show some form. To see himself on the plane to Russia, Rashford has to star regularly, and this is an unlikely option if he stays at Old Trafford. With Real Madrid already eying a move for the 19-yea-rold, the future seems bright for him but moving to Real Madrid also doesn’t guarantee regular playing time. The decision seems a bit difficult but calls for immediate action.
