Juventus confirm that they have released Dani Alves from his contract after mutual consent. The defender had signed a two-year contract with the Italian champions when le left Barcelona last year.
Things have come to an end, however, with the defender looking favorite to join Manchester City instead.
City boss, Pep Guardiola, is desperate to be reunited with the Right-Back. He has earlier let go of two veteran City right-backs, Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna, after their contracts expired at the end of the season.
Marotta was quoted in Tuttosport saying: "We're not talking about a breakdown in the relationship, it's motivation that is fundamental for players.
"Alves has realized he has a desire to try a new experience, so we're trying to reach a mutual termination of his contract and we wish him good luck.
"There's certainly sadness because of what's been said, but I can confirm there's been no breakdown in our relationship."

Premier League champions, Chelsea, were also interested in the Brazilian but it is City which are favorites to grab the Right-back’s signature.
Interestingly Dani Alves had earlier passed controversial remarks against City, saying that there is only one football team in Manchester, favoring Manchester United.
Juventus are expected to replace Dani Alves with Matteo Darmian, the Manchester United right-back. Mourinho is unhappy with the defender and he is expected to leave this summer.
