La Liga Preview Matchweek 7

By  Football Pulp - 30 September 2016

After two successive draws, the holders, Real Madrid, are keen to return back to their winning ways as Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have tighten the gap at the top. The league is heading towards an interesting interval and teams are gearing up to lift their game and give dominating performances. The current status of the La Liga table is quite unique and we rarely see 6-7 teams contesting for the top spot in Spain.

Well, Barcelona has learned a valuable lesson from the defeat they suffered at the hands of Alaves, whereas Atletico Madrid and Villarreal are also improving every matchweek, making the fight for throne more intense. Sevilla is performing tremendously in the Champions League but their form in the domestic league has declined, which saw them go down in the table.

With Real Sociedad taking on Real Betis on Friday, September 30, 2016, La Liga Matchweek 7 will be very exciting to watch.

Fixtures of the Week

Valencia v Atletico Madrid

It would have been a one-sided affair a few weeks ago but tables have turned drastically. After a terrible start to the season, Valencia has achieved successive victories and is out of the drop zone now. Atletico Madrid is also back on track after a couple of draws and is looking destructive. Piling on the misery, Atletico has recovered well and are finally off and running, while Valencia have a similar story, which makes this tie a little more competitive than expected.

Sevilla v Alaves

The fans at both the ends are skeptical about the fortune of their teams as both sides are enjoying a roller coaster ride so far. Alaves caught the eyes of many after defeating Barcelona in a closely contested encounter, while Sevilla lost its track after a promising start to the season. A win for both sides will erase the disbelief of fans and will increase their hopes of securing a European spot.

Team Talking

A grimy start to the season by Granada is disturbing not only for the fans but also for those who love football. The team hasn’t managed to win a game this season and only the newly promoted side, Osasuna, has done worse than them. However, Leganes is visiting Granada this weekend, and chalking up a win is essential to keep their survival hopes alive.

Player to Look at

Cristiano Ronaldo

Since he is back from injury, he is expected to keep his fine form going. Although he failed to impress in the last league match against Las Palmas, writing him off completely will not be right thing to do. He is the driving force behind Real this season.
