Matchday 11 in La Liga was an add-on to the already established excitement this season, resulting in a major shift in the top flight. It looks like Simone’s men are off the track and the defeat they received at the hands of Sevilla has had a deep impact on them.
On the contrary, Barcelona is more about late celebrations this season and they actually like it this way. Anyhow, Real Madrid is back on the winning track and is aiming straight at the crown. Villarreal have finally sneaked their way into the top 3, God knows how, but they finally did it –how long they hang in there remains to be seen.

Bilbao, Celta Vigo, Las Palmas and Malaga are keeping things tight and are still involved in a debatable scenario. In the other news, Granada is still winless. The relegation battle is quite stagnant and we merely see a movement there. It appears that the teams have just given up but we really hope a twist to appear soon. We have to wait for a while before Matchday 12 due to the international break but we hope that La Liga recommences with the same buzz.
The two sides met in an all-important tie and as many predicted, Barcelona came on top, courtesy of a late winner. Sevilla were aiming to avenge their Supercopa defeat but fell just short. Besides that, the perfect home record was also on stake for Sevilla, which they failed to retain. Before the tie, only a point was separating the sides but new the difference has exceeded to 4. Sevilla have been impressive so far in every competition and would like to land in the Champions League next season as well, but for that they’ll have to emerge on top in crucial meetings such as this one. Barcelona, on the other hand, sneaked victory in the dying moments, courtesy of luck, perhaps?

Their form this season is nothing less than impressive but their performance is a bit confusing since they are not sticking to either winning or losing. This is making it quite confusing for the pundits to predict the outcome. Anyhow, they are only the second side this season to inflict defeat on Atletico Madrid, and it was a convincing win. If they continue playing like this, they might end up with a European spot in the end.
