Southampton travelled to Anfield for the EFL Cup Semifinal second leg draw. They were one goal ahead when Shane Long struck to make it 2-0. This defeat unraveled Liverpool’s smooth going. Also, this will be the first League Cup Final for Southampton since 1979. Southampton was well on their toes since the start and gave the host no chance to settle down. Sturridge is still not settled and Klopp is not confident to give the Englishman a chance. However, this defeat has raised questions over Jurgen Klopp’s strategy. A point to ponder was Jack Stephens who gave Saints the hope in the absence of Van Dijk.
