FA CUP Fifth Round Reply

MANCHESTER CITY 5-1 HUDDERSFIELD TOWN

Sergio Aguero scored a brace for the Citizens to not only display his enduring talent but secure a crucial win for Man City as well.

Once again, Claudio Bravo made a blunder to give Huddersfield Town an early lead.

The goal from Harry Bunn gave the visitors a leading edge but Man City stormed back with a vengeance to seal the game.

Pep Guardiola is still happy to have Bravo, but the fans think otherwise.

With this win, Man City have cruised into the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Manchester City 5-1 Huddersfield FA Cup Reply

Manchester City hosted the minnows, Huddersfield Town, in their FA Cup fifth round replay and cruised to a victory in a convincing manner. Though the game took on a bizarre fashion when Claudio Bravo’s blunder helped Harry Burn score the opener and put the visitors ahead, the Chilean was saved from misery and embarrassment thanks to Lorey Sane, Raheem Sterling, and Sergio Aguero. The Trident led the fight back and inspired the side to a convincing victory in the end.

This was the second time that Man City scored a five-goal haul after a nail-biting encounter against Monaco that ended in 5-3. Man City was in a tumbling position at the start, no thanks to the Chilean maestro that Pep Guardiola preferred over Joe Hart. The fans believe that Guardiola might change his mind as it’s never too late, but seems like Pep has the back of Bravo, hailing the former Barcelona man for his efforts. Though he has lost his position to Caballero, Pep Guardiola seems confident with his choice.

The good news is the return of the attacking trio of Man City and the return of Sergio Aguero. He may have to replicate this success on few more occasions before questions over his future at Man City are erased. The Argentinean once again showed his enduring talent and netted two goals to help the side survive embarrassment. With four goals in two games, Sergio Aguero has proved his worth and it will be foolish on Man City’s part if they decide to part ways with the prolific striker.

Lorey Sane and Raheem Sterling were also among the unsung heroes of the night. The young midfield really has a bright future at Etihad. Lorey Sane initiated the fight-back with a brilliant effort in the 30th minute to level the terms before Sergio Aguero netted a penalty to give his side an upper hand five minutes later. Pablo Zabaleta netted Man City’s third goal seven minutes before the interval and Sergio Aguero netted his second and game’s fifth goal in the 73rd minute.  Kelechi Iheanacho concluded the evening with an excellent touch during the injury time.

Despite the opening blunder a convincing win in the end!

Pep Guardiola was quite impressed with the performance and had special praise for Sergio Aguero. Applauding the performance, the Catalan said:

"It is the best performance I ever seen from Sergio in many things," he said. "He is good with the ball, one against one, two against one. He scored two goals, give another one so when he plays in that level Sergio is unstoppable. We are so happy the way he played, and he is going to help us keep going until the end of the season."

Guardio Aguero Manchester City

After this performance, Man City should hold on to Sergio Aguero and put all the debates on his Man City future to dust. However, does Man City need Joe Hart back?
