Japan and Korea Republic reached the final of AFC U-23 tournament and booked their places in Rio Olympics 2016, while Iraq finished third to claim the final spot in Rio.
The semifinalists of the UEFA European U-21 Championship Sweden, Portugal, Germany and Denmark represent Europe in the Rio Olympic Games 2016. Sweden won the tournament, which makes them the favorite from Europe.
The defending champions, Mexico, won the CANCACAF Olympic qualification in order to book their place in this year Olympic Games. Honduras was the runner-up and claimed the second and the final spot form the region in the Rio Olympics Football event.
Fiji is the only representative from the Oceana region. The team secured their place by winning the Pacific Games beating Papa New Guinea in the final.
Brazil secured their place in the event as they are the host but Argentina and Colombia booked their places by reaching the final of South American U-20 Championship.
