As Champions’ League group stage heads towards conclusion, Matchday 5 is scheduled to bring some extremely exhilarating encounters. With just two Matchdays to go, all the teams will be aiming to give their best to secure a spot in the next round. However, some of the sides have already booked their places in the round of 16 but there are some vacant spaces yet to be filled. All this and much more are expected when Champions League recommences with Matchday 5.
The proceedings will start with an early encounter between CSKA Moscow and Bayern Leverkusen with both sides aiming to steal all the three points to strengthen their case. The other fixture of this group will see Spurs travel to France to take on Monaca with vengeance on their mind. It’s a must win game for Spurs if they want to qualify for the next round.

The unbeaten Leicester, who are yet to concede a goal in the competition, will try to cement their place in the next round with a win over Club Brugge. København will host Porto in a do-or-die clash. Both have been impressive in their domestic season but have not shown the same talent in Champions League.
Lyon will travel to Croatia in search of a win to keep the last breeze of survival flowing, whereas Sevilla will host Juventus with hopes of inflicting a defeat. Similarly, Dortmund and Real Madrid have already qualified for the next round but Real Madrid will be hoping to make it official with a win over Sporting. Well, Sporting were outrageous when they visited Bernabau. So expect the unexpected form the Portuguese.

It’s still quite open in Group C but Barça is holding the pole position for now. Celtic will be hoping to take revenge of the humiliation they received at the hands of the Catalans. Manchester City will visit M’gladbach with Guardiola’s men all prepared for this all-important tie. In Group A, Arsenal and PSG have their place in the next round place confirmed. However, Basel and Ludogorets will be competing for pride only.
Benfica, Napoli and Besiktas are involved in an intense battle with every side hoping to get hold of the pole position. Let’s see which two sides will prevail in the end. On the other hand, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich will be involved in regulation matches and are gearing up for the next round. Here are the top fixtures of Matchday 5 that you can’t afford to miss:
The last time Sevilla traveled to Italy, they returned with a point and that was disappointing for Juventus. With Sevilla holding on to the pole position, this realistically is the last chance for Juventus to snatch the top spot from the Spaniards. Both teams have been in prolific form domestically and have displayed the same here as well. Irrespective of the outcome, this clash will be the most exciting one to watch.

This tie is the decider that will make the top two spots clear. Being leveled on points, both teams are heading into this encounter carrying their unbeaten run and PSG are all geared up to defeat the Gunners at their own backyard. Well, difficult to predict the outcome but this one is going to be a cracker.
